Debriefing Workshop The Ecole Nationale d'Equitation of Saumur, presented the training systems for practitioners and trainers, making the analogy between these systems and Qualifications Framework French as well as between it and the European Qualifications Framework (similar to Portuguese). a. This submission on the training of practitioners, takes essentially the following: (1) The system of training of practitioners is called Gallop, Gallop's Gallop 1 to 9; (2) The federated access to competitions is permitted only to those who are certified with the Gallop 7; (3) By the Gallop 4, is only required skills in Dressage; (4) From the 5 Gallop, are examined and cross barriers, which is mandatory for all practitioners, whatever mode you want to spend; (5) 5 Gallop - the Cross is composed of 4 or 5 natural obstacles, translated into a trot or gallop in a minimum distance of 600 meters; (6) The certification in Gallop 8:09 no use building, is obtained only by those who want to evolve; (7) was discussed the need to require all practitioners to obtain certification Obstacles and Cross, irrespective of the method chosen, is considered by most players, a requirement difficult to enforce in most countries, but of great utility in regarding education of the rider and especially the safety of riders and horses when unforeseen situations. b. For the discipline of Eventing, were collected the following elements: (1) For the Grade II (Monitor): (A) The discipline of CCE aims to give some experience to the Knights Cross, being used horses that already have extensive experience in cross paths and help students gain confidence, looking to improve the type of placement needed saddle, and to realize the proper rhythm for this sort of route, and the evolution can be the most progressive; (B) The required level is that of a star, with regard to size and composition of the obstacles, but without much concern about the distance and speed; (C) The course is continuous, lasting ten months, and costs about € 15,000 to each student; (D) Each student must lead a horse to attend your course, and two horses given by the school (the fact that students use the school horses, would not charge for the same). (2) For the Grade III (Instructor): (A) The course is done through a partnership with a university, to obtain the corresponding degree, and lasts for three years; (B) the part is given in the Equestrian School in Saumur, and may have a total term of nine months in increments of 4 weeks each, or one year, with six fractions of 15 days each; (C) Although the course has the cost of 9200 € for students, it can be financed by the State strongly supports and encourages training. (3) For the conditions offered by the School of Saumur: (A) The school bought 20 to 30 horses a year, those being selected for CCE, taught by school teachers (of 42), which give them experience of competition during about 3 years before being used by these students; (B) The School is currently attending the various courses, about 40 students; (C) There is an expectation, in fact to have given the merger of the National Riding School with the National Stud, giving rise to the French Institute of the Horse, the school can spend after directly with the production of stud horses. c. For the Flyinge School, it was found that the courses do not give great prominence to the CCE, students doing only an introduction to natural obstacles, hurdles quite affordable. d. For the School of Warendorf: (1) It was noted that concern had focused the acquisition of teaching skills at the level of Master Degree, in which candidates for this degree, in addition to the sports curriculum, had to have taught students to demonstrate a certain level; (2) With the changes mandated by the government, began to demand the development of teaching skills right from the first level, (3) For the CCE, now have a partnership with the Military Sport Centre for the practice of eventing through the use of its infrastructure, which has been greatly improved by an Officer who is placed at the center, Knight CCE; (4) In addition, the city of Warendorf is to promote conditions that may be possible offsets between the various horse riding center and riding schools, and thus provide the increase of outdoor riding. e. We were given the opportunity to attend the final exams for evidence of a crosscountry course in Grade 3 performed in Saumur. We could see about 8 sets a course of two-star level. The courses we have seen were generally performed well in quality, having as main points of the times timed assessment, the errors committed approach and attitude and put the rider in the saddle. The tracks are of high quality both of the obstacles or the floors always well maintained. Horses very experienced all of them belonging to the National School are authentic teachers in the sport. The impression we get is that it was widespread agreement among the other participants in the workshop, was that the French National Riding School is privileged financial and structural means. 6. General impressions of the situations presented and the Portuguese reality The way to teach the cross-country - sharing of country experiences in meeting and present the main difficulties encountered: The first difficulty is due to the fact that most students in all the countries present, never have had contact with the outside of riding that involves riding on varied terrain and a true gallop dimension used in cross-country. In Portugal there is the aggravating circumstance of being the horse of the students themselves who, in most cases, have never before had any contact with the sport. Show why all the normal fears and hesitation to face different obstacles and steep terrain before them, in addition to a normal discipline because it will now have as a place of exercise in the open dimension of canter that are not minimally used. All this may jeopardize the safety of the practice of this modality is not safeguarded as a progressive and systematic in their training. An accident in the inception phase can lose all the confidence of the horse and rider jeopardizing the future performance of both. The size and quality of the tracks is also an important factor to take into account. For all these reasons there is in all countries, and this is usually some pressure to abandon the practice of cross-country training courses for trainers riding and spend more general theory. This pressure comes mainly from the Knights of teaching, long accustomed to riding in very small spaces and sealed, where the horses can never achieve the ultimate expression of his gallop. Interestingly there are also some obstacles riders with the same problem due to lack of contact with the riding abroad that is practiced less and less these days for various reasons. However, it is the consensus, and trainers with a lot of practice riding in formation, it is essential to this precious contact sport. The practice of cross-country empowers any rider to view the practice with ease any reaction product of a joke or even a defense of a horse more violent as well as address the implementation of any natural obstacle that you encounter ahead. The practice of the sport join the deep knowledge that we acquire in the treatment and management due to its proximity to the horse that has been the fact that you use a very demanding physical and mental, which are basic and fundamental elements in the formation of a true "man of horses." More technical details of what was discussed a guideline for how to teach this very progressive discipline: Must begin the work plan in the field (spring garden - "cerrado") and in groups, in order to accustom the horses to have a peaceful and stable behavior in this environment, making their use safer; Once controlled and stabilized the horse can move on to training in varied terrain; Then pass the training until they reach the gallops with the same calmness about 500m/min; Forthwith then start training on small jumps natural and simple, first at a moderate speed or even later in trot and canter speed (400 to 500m/min), always bearing in mind the balance of quality and progress; In a move to the last phase of training combinations, taking into account the technical approaches, the straightness and balance to correct saddle placement in different circumstances. In theoretical issues: Recognition techniques and the way they approach special jumps in cross-country; Knowledge of regulations; Management of treatment and care of horse eventing.
